My name is Karin (hard to guess from the URL, right?) and I'm hoping to use this site for a few purposes.  I started out registering the domain name www.karinonline.com with the sole purpose of making sure some skank named Karin didn't buy it and use it for inappropriate content!  But then I realized it would be kind of fun to share some of my interests and hopefully make a difference somehow.

A little bit about me.  I live in Bartlett, Illinois, USA, which is a suburb about 30 miles west of Chicago.  Bartlett is an awesome hometown to live in -- the community spirit can't be beat.  When you have time check out the Fire Department's web site.

As for my hobbies, I enjoy cross stitching, quilting & sewing, riding my bike, collecting Precious Moments figurines, learning more about computers, and shopping on eBay.  I also love to cook and bake (I usually give all my baking away, so be on my good side and you'll have a happy tummy), and am a huge coffee freak.

I have adopted a soldier through Adopt a Platoon -- check out their site and remember to support our troops whether you agree with our administration or not.  Support comes in many ways, not just money.  Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.  Another wonderful organization is the USO which supports troops and their families.  You can support the USO and many other wonderful organizations buy shopping online through iGive.com.  Check it out.

As for TV, I am a news junky and watch FOX News Channel shows such as The O'Reilly Factor and Hannity & Colmes.  I also enjoy reality shows and get a kick out of The Amazing Race and Survivor but I don't really get into the dating reality shows.  I listen to talk radio whenever I can and usually have WLS am tuned in.  When listening to music I have a pretty eclectic range of taste from Itzhak Perlman and The Police to crooner music such as Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, and Rosemary Clooney.
